At Electric City Sound Recording, we're real-world audio professionals looking to help real-world musicians create great live recordings.  We travel to your Capital Region gig or event, using experienced technicians and high-quality equipment to create a recording you can be proud of.

What can a live recording do for you?

- Maybe you're a jazz trio hoping to capture the magic of a special gig for later release?

- Maybe you're a rock band looking to showcase your stage presence and energy to concert promoters and booking agents with a live EP?

- Maybe you're looking to demo some new material without booking expensive studio sessions?

- Maybe you're simply tired of your "#1 Fan!!!" posting lousy cell phone clips of your music on YouTube, and you want to offer your online audience something with more fidelity?

Electric City Sound Recording can help.

Whether you're playing an acoustic café set or a full-on rock club, we use our experience in live sound to get you the best recordings possible. 

How it works:

- You contact us with the who/what/when/where.

- We contact the venue in advance of your gig to make the arrangements.  (A few venues charge a fee for recording; if this is the case, we'll let you know.)

- You play the gig.  (We can't help you there!)

- You leave with your individual recorded tracks on a complimentary flash drive.   We record 24-bit/48kHz WAV files using industry standard mics, preamps, and converters.

- You import these into your DAW of choice (we use Pro Tools, but just about any audio workstation will work) and mix your tracks like you would a studio recording session.  Don't want to bother mixing?  We offer that, too.

- You keep 100% copyright of the sound recordings.  Electric City Sound Recording works on a work-for-hire basis, which means that you'll never have to pay us royalties down the road for the use of your tracks.  (Any royalties due to the Bee Gees for your stellar cover of "More Than a Woman" . . . that's another story . . .)

We're musicians ourselves; trust us, we get it.  That's why we try to offer the most bang-for-your-hard-earned-buck.
